The risk of direct listings

In their article today for Bloomberg, Drew Singer and Jeran Wittenstein spoke with Triton's Rett Wallace to get his perspective on the increasing number of tech companies that are considering directly listing their stock as opposed to undergoing the traditional IPO process. “The only legitimate selling point of direct listings is the lack of lockups,” said Wallace in the article. “That’s great if you’re a venture capitalist and you want liquidity now and you don’t care about the long-term health of the company.
