WeWork's Fundraising Success

In her article for the BBC, reporter Dearbail Jordan examined WeWork rapid rise to a $50 billion valuation, ahead of a reported upcoming IPO for it's parent The We Company. Despite questions about differentiation from competitors such as IWG (formerly Regus), Jordan notes that much of the hyped valuation can be attributed simply to successful fundraising. In doing so, she quotes Triton's Rett Wallace: Rett Wallace, founder and chief executive of Triton Research, says the firm's track record on fundraising has been "astonishing". "If you just look at the nuts and bolts of what they do, it doesn't explain how they have been able to raise so much money," he says. "And the people they have raised the money from are not idiots."
